Groupon, The Group Discount Without Being a Group

Otherwise known as Internet-organized group buying allows businesses to give deep discounts on products or services so long as enough people “buy-in.”  A company offers a service normally a $90.00 value for $45.00 if more than 50 people agree to buy the coupon.  It allows the company to get new customers with very little marketing, allows the customer a great discount and if the less than 50 people agree to buy in, no one is out any money.  According to The New York Times, “Psyched To Buy, In Groups”, by David Pogue, it is a “win-win-win” for everyone involved.

Using Groupon can help you create an atmosphere to provide “a deal you didn’t expect, for a product you didn’t know you wanted.”
