Too often pre show promotion/communication plans are left till the last minute and might not even get done. Don't make this serious mistake.
According to Exhibit Surveys, Inc., the average trade show attendee spends 8.2 hours total on the trade show floor. Think about what that means to you.
I will grant you because of IMTS's longer show days, size of show, and awesome value, the average IMTS attendee probably spends a lot more than 8.2 hours. But still, its limited. Let's say, for example, an attendee spends 15 hours at IMTS. How many exhibitors can they have quality meetings with? If a quality meeting is only 15 minutes and they are literally able to beam themselves booth-to-booth AND they know exactly who they plan to see...well, they are only going to meet with 60 total exhibitors!
Where are your odds better? Convince them before the show to put you on their agenda, or wait until they walk the over one million net square feet observing over 1500 other exhibitors and HOPE they discover you?
Start planning your pre show promotion campaign NOW. Don't fall into the trap that making your booth all nice and pretty and cool-looking is where to spend all your time.
