The IMTS staff took the 2010 Exhibitor’s Workshop on the road this year, visiting six cities in a quest to help exhibitors have the best show experience possible. A total of 508 individuals registered for the workshops, which covered everything from branding to booth design to the best way to ensure that machines and display materials are moved in and out of McCormick Place in a smooth, timely fashion.

China Extends Lead in Consumption, Now Leads in Production of Machine Tools as Well

Seven years ago China moved from fourth to first place in consumption of machine tools and retained that position. Last year as the worldwide manufacturing recession severely cut into purchases of production equipment elsewhere, China seemingly escaped and instead leaped forward, well ahead of other principal users like Germany, the United States and Japan.
