Question: How can I increase my IMTS meeting space with value-priced show options?
One thing that you can be sure of in today's economy is that IMTS 2008 will represent a major marketing commitment for most exhibiting companies. Don't leave your company's success at the show to your booth alone. If you've had to downsize your booth or reduce the number of meeting areas in it, here are some ideas to consider: Plan on using all of the show services and meeting areas that are available to you. Recent studies have shown that today's show attendee is more of a decision maker in the buying process than ever before. Make sure you secure some of that buyer's valuable time on the show floor and turn it into quality leads and increased show sales. A comfortable chair and cool beverage can be a great start to a profitable business relationship.
Let's take a look at some of the areas that you should consider taking advantage of.
Option A: The Meeting Center
The Meeting Center is designed to be your meeting headquarters away from your booth. It's the perfect place for private business discussions with new and existing customers away from the noise and distractions of the show floor. For $100 your company gets 4 allotments* of the mini-conference rooms (4-10 people) and more can be purchased at any time during the show. There will be three meeting centers available, one in the South Hall (room S-103), Lakeside Center (East Hall) (room E-252), and West Hall (room W-470).

*Each allotment equals up to one hour of time per meeting. If you wish to purchase additional time please fill out another form. For further questions please call 703-827-5233.
To sign-up, please refer to the Mini-Conference Room (4-10 people) Form in the E-Kit.
Option B: Meeting Rooms
There are over 70 private meeting rooms available in areas adjacent to the South, North, West and Lakeside Center buildings. These rooms are available for exhibitors to use for a nominal rental fee and can accommodate up to 1,300 people. Many sizes and configurations are available and rooms can be set up in banquet, theatre or classroom style. Special audio visual and catering services can also be purchased to make your meeting a truly special event. These rooms also can be used as hospitality rooms versus more costly off site alternatives. Your guests generally will be more inclined to take some time from their show schedule to visit you rather than miss their dinner reservation. Also consider one of the meeting rooms for that pre-show kickoff meeting with your sales force and distributors and then move the group on to the booth for a review of your demonstrations.
For complete ordering information including room sizes, seating capacities and rates, refer to the Meeting Room Request Form (100+ people) in the E-Kit. You may also call the AMT Meetings Departmet at (703) 827-5231 to discuss your specific needs.
Option C: Email Stations
While in Chicago, keep in touch with your family, friends and coworkers or just stop in for a refreshing beverage. Each building will have a complimentary Email Station allowing users access to their own accounts to send and receive e-mail or visit a specific website. You will also be able to hook up your laptop to an Internet connection. Take a few minutes before you come to Chicago to review how to best access your e-mail from a remote location. The Email Station really gives you the opportunity to stay in contact with your customers while you're at the show.
Any of these choices can be very beneficial alternatives to the meeting space problem you may be concerned about in your booth. Please consider them in your show planning process.
If we can be of any assistance please call the IMTS Exhibitor Line at 800-828-SHOW (7469) or send an email to IMTS FAQ
