Where is the show held?
2301 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60616
IMTS will occupy all four of the buildings at McCormick Place: North, South, East, & West. There is over 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space at IMTS. Each building will have specific product pavilions:
- North: Abrasive Machining / Sawing /Finishing / Gear Generation / Fabrication / Lasers / Additive
- South: Metal Cutting
- East: Machine Components / Cleaning /Environmental Controls & CAD / CAM / EDM / Quality Assurance
- West: Tooling & Workholding Systems
What are the exhibitor show hours?
East: 7:00am - 5:30pm
North: 8:00am - 6:30pm
South: 8:00am - 6:30pm
West: 7:00am - 5:30pm
What are the visitor show hours?
East: 9:00am - 5:00pm
North: 10:00am - 6:00pm
South: 10:00am - 6:00pm
West: 9:00am - 5:00pm

How do I find my way around?
Building maps will be available throughout IMTS to help you get where you want to be. On-site kiosks located throughout the show floor will also have directions. You can also download the free IMTS 2014 app. View the floor plans.
Is there a coat and baggage check?IMTS will offer a coat and baggage check at the following locations from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm: S100bc, E256, and West - by Gate 40 near info counter. Daily charges are $3 per coat; $4 per bag. The service will not accept laptops.
Are cameras/video equipment allowed on the show floor?
Cameras and video recording devices are allowed on the show floor; however, each exhibitor may limit the use of photography in their booth. Please keep an eye out for those exhibitors that have a ‘No Photography’ sign in their booth. Before taking photos inside a booth it is a good idea to check with booth personnel first.
To obtain a ‘No Photography’ sign for your booth, visit the IMTS Show Office in Your Building.
Is there a dress code?
While there is no dress code, most visitors wear attire that is consistent to what you would wear to a manufacturing plant or factory. We recommend comfortable shoes that you can walk around in all day.
Can children attend IMTS?Children may attend IMTS during show hours only and must be accompanied by an adult.
Are strollers and suitcases allowed on the show floor?
While strollers and suitcases are allowed on the show floor, we encourage you to check them at a Coat & Baggage check. There are many people on the show floor and the aisles can get crowded.
Can I purchase machines on the show floor?
Some items may be purchased directly on the show floor. Shipping arrangements must be made between the visitor and exhibitor. Equipment may not leave the show floor until your move-out target date.
What is the MyShow Planner?
The MyShow Planner is how IMTS visitors set up their IMTS agenda. They will choose which exhibitors they want to see and make appointments. Make sure that you let visitors know when you will be accepting appointments thru the ‘Schedule Your Appointments’ link in the (blue) ‘Your Account’ section in your e-Kit.
Will I be able to access MyShow Planner on-site at IMTS?
Yes, there will be several on-site kiosks in each building of the show as well as in the common areas to access your agenda or just look up something on-site. There will also be an IMTS App and Mobile Site.
How do I get a Letter of Invitation to IMTS?
Letters of Invitation are provided free as a complimentary service to IMTS guests. Due to security procedures, we are not able to email, fax or scan any Letters of Invitation. The deadline for submitting an application for Letters of Invitation to IMTS is August 8, 2014. The online form is available on the International Visa page.
