Taking Flight at IMTS

Few developments symbolize advanced manufacturing techniques as well as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, so it is fitting that a section of this revolutionary aircraft’s interior will be displayed at the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) at IMTS 2008. The AMC is a joint effort sponsored by Boeing, the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Center (AMRC), Modern Machine Shop Magazine and IMTS 2008.

In addition to the Dreamliner interior, the AMC will include:

• Parts displays and process presentations from Phantom Works, Boeing’s advanced research and development unit
  
  
• Ten “disruptive” technologies from innovative manufacturing suppliers and researchers
  
  
• Media displays from leading industry publications, including AMC presenter, Modern Machine Shop
  
  
• Display and presentation from the University of Sheffield’s AMRC
