WG2 Quick Setup Gage
Control Gaging invented the “quick setup” gage head more than 40 years ago, slashing gage changeover time from 20 minutes to 30 seconds. Some of the gages built then are still holding close tolerances today.
That combination of simplicity, accuracy and durability has been the relentless target of our design teams ever since. On that basis we have been recognized, by users and competitors alike, as leaders in the process-control gaging industry.
The WG2 Gage Head is a fifth-generation product and has incorporated steady advances in all areas of the design: bearing structure, corrosion resistance, coolant seals, setup and retract mechanism reliability, crash-resistance, easy-access adjustable features, repairability, and repeatability -- all in a compact form for tight tooling spaces.
The WG2 offers repeatability of less than .0005mm (.00002”), sets up in less than 30 seconds and comes with a two year warranty.
Model TFD Thrufeed Centerless Gage System
Effective automation of size control on a thru-feed centerless grinder requires precise part measurement, responsive trend analysis, and an effective compensation technique for the grinder. Each of CGI’s TFD-Series Gage Stations, in combination with a D500 Gage Controller, provides these capabilities at the peak of current technology.
Each model in the series has a gage fixture suited to particular types of parts. The fixture is integrated into a dual-belt conveyor specifically designed for durability and for part stability in the gaging zone. The parts exit the grinder onto the conveyor and are carried through the gage. As they enter the fixture, the parts are firmly located by a “top guide” suited to the part type. The gage head “floats” mechanically to align the measuring contacts with the part centerline. The location mechanisms are adjustable over a range of sizes appropriate to the application.
All TFD systems employ Control Gaging’s robust, quick-setup WG2 gage head. This gage incorporates over 40 years of experience in designing laboratory-accurate measuring devices for the harsh environment of production grinding.
D90 Grinding Wheel Balancer
The D90 balancer cuts vibration to optimize work piece surface finish and extend the life of the grinding machine spindle.
The D90 measures the vibration caused by an unbalanced grinding wheel and shifts weights attached to the wheel spindle until the vibration is neutralized. The system can be applied to grinding operations over a wide range of wheel sizes, wheel speeds, machine types, and wheel compositions.
The balancing head mounts easily to almost any wheel spindle with an adapter flange and nut. The precision piezo-electric vibration transducer attaches to the wheelhead housing, in line with one of the spindle bearings, with a simple stud or magnet. Machine downtime for installation is minimal.
During a balancing cycle, the D90 electronic unit receives a signal from the sensor proportional to the amount of vibration created by the wheel imbalance. The D90 then performs a realignment of the two weights in the balancing head until the amount of vibration falls below a pre-set limit.
