The New ZEISS CONTURA
The all-new affordable ZEISS CONTURA CMM offers flexible, reliable and uncompromising quality assurance. The latest generation is even more precise, is available in more sizes, and comes with even more sensor options. Our industry-leading active scanning technology and CALYPSO 2014 software let you measure faster, increasing your throughput. Designed and assembled in the USA, the CONTURA maintains its place as the standard in its class.
New laser line sensors improve productivity, enable reverse engineering
The new family of LineScan laser line sensors from ZEISS Industrial Metrology improve inspection productivity and enable reverse engineering of complex products on popular CONTURA, ACCURA II and PRISMO CMMs. These sensors easily extend the functionality of your ZEISS CMM and are available with stripe widths of 25 mm, 50 mm and 100 mm.
Inspection productivity is improved by scanning workpieces at rates of up 700,000 points/second, with a measurement precision figure of merit (MPE(PF) as defined by ISO-10360-2) as low as 12 um, and storing point cloud information in the CMM host computer. With resolution of 1280 points/line and no need for an extra controller, the new LineScan sensors utilize a 658 nm wavelength visible red light source. Each unit is IP54 certified to protect from dust and water.
The new LineScan sensors are immediately available with the new ZEISS CONTURA, ACCURA II and PRISMO CMMs using the ZEISS RDS probe system and CALYPSO 2014 software. These sensors can also be retrofit to select ZEISS CMMs in the field.
ZEISS Industrial Metrology is a leader in CNC coordinate measuring machines and complete solutions for multidimensional metrology in the metrology lab and production. The company is a recognized partner to the automotive industry and its suppliers. 2,400 employees from manufacturing sites in four countries and more than 100 sales and service centers supply customers around the world.
The offering encompasses bridge-type, horizontal-arm and inline measuring machines, as well as form, contour and surface measuring machines. All relevant modules, such as controllers, software, measuring systems and sensors are developed and manufactured in-house. Recent new developments include a system to measure extremely small parts and a computer tomograph for industrial quality assurance. DuraMax, a small CNC measuring machine, allows a particularly cost-effective entry into the ZEISS scanning world.
With its optical and tactile measuring systems, ZEISS has added image processing to the application spectrum of coordinate measuring technology. Synergies have been used to create optical sensors and optimized software. The image processing software is integrated into CALYPSO CAD-based measuring software, enabling a measuring system to perform both optical and tactile measurements.
The extensive CALYPSO software library enables users of ZEISS measuring technology to perform almost any measuring task. The efficient Navigator technology is of particular importance for maximum accuracies and simultaneously high measuring speeds. The offering is rounded off with extensive customer services, contract measurements, part inspection using computer tomography and online services to ensure optimum machine uptimes.
