LaserSmart 500 Super-fine Laser Cutting and Ablation Machine
In response to an increasing demand from the aerospace and automotive industries for high performance cutting tools, Rollomatic has added a laser cutting machine to its portfolio of conventional grinding techniques. The initial strategy for this machine is to offer a more cost-effective way and higher quality in the production of PCD polycrystalline diamond, cBN cubic boron nitride and CVD chemical vapor deposited cutting tools which traditionally require to be produced by a double process of spark erosion and polish grinding.
GrindSmart 528XF Tool Grinding Machine for long drills/endmills
In its quest to re-design tool grinding machines to cover growing market segments, Rollomatic has designed a proprietary steady rest system for long drills coupled with a traveling workhead. This allows grinding of extra-long drills up to a dia/length ratio of 400. This machine is equipped with an automatic tool loader and an automatic wheel/nozzle changer. As an option, a built-in camera can be used to locate the coolant through-hole on small drills for accurate radial positioning. In addition to drills, this machine is also highly capable of grinding high-performance endmills with all currently-known features such as flute polish, S-gash, K-land (on drills), variable helix/index and much more.
ShapeSmart NP5 Pinch/Peel Cylindrical Grinding Machine
The ShapeSmart NP5 is dedicated for cylindrical grinding of carbide, HSS and stainless steel components with emphasis on highest achievable concentricity. The NP5 is utilizing the proven method of pinch and peel grinding and includes a Marposs in-process measurement gauge. This machine also includes a fifth axis which facilitates grinding flats and non-round surfaces on cylindrical parts. Pinch grinding provides the highest concentricity even on long and thin parts. The rough and finish grinding are performed in one pass (patented). This innovative way to grind roughing and finishing simultaneously eliminates a separate process and reduces cycle time. The machine utilizes two different grinding wheels running on separate spindles and positioned on independently-controlled CNC linear slides. Peel grinding utilizes single point contact on the grinding wheels giving higher stock removal in single or multi-passes. The roughing wheel removes most of the stock to reduce wheel wear and to increase uptime of the machine. In the final pass, roughing and finishing are performed simultaneously. The ShapeSmart NP5 is equipped with a Fanuc 320iA control running on the Windows 7 Professional operating system. This offers a modern machine control system with superior ease-of-use, combined with the proven P4Smart program software for design and simulation of the grinding process. The machine is equipped with a 3-axis CNC pick-and-place robot loader, as well as gap control for wheel qualification and Marposs in-process measurement.
