The International Manufacturing Technology Show is one of the largest industrial trade shows in the world, with more than 1,100 exhibitors and over 92,000 visitors. The event is held every two years in September at McCormick Place, Chicago.

Emerging Technology Center (ETC)
The Emerging Technology Center is being presented in partnership with SME, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Once again we will be showcasing the most innovative technological developments for the manufacturing industry. The theme is "Knowledge-Based" - using knowledge in a variety of ways such as: Knowledge-Based Manufacturing, People, Business and Technology.

Robot Combat
Destruction, Mayhem and Chaos…but in a Fun way. We will have two Robot Combat Arenas at IMTS, sponsored by ThomasNet. The North Building, N-6875 has been slated for destruction. Microwaves, dishwashers and other household appliances will be beaten, broken, and ripped to shreds by the robots. The East Building, E-5066 will allow attendees to drive in head to head competition, bring your co-workers and challenge them to a match!

IMTS Museum
“It is hard to know where you are going if you don’t know where you have been.”
We will be displaying artifacts from our manufacturing past donated from The American Precision Museum, exhibitors and others. Located in the East Building - E-4771, we hope to entertain and engage you with a view of how far we have come in manufacturing.

Live from Chicago...IMTSTV! Daily broadcasts hosted by Emilie Barta on-site from the IMTSTV Studio keeping both exhibitors and attendees informed about the exciting events taking place throughout the show.

Student Summit

Program that enriches student and educator attendance at IMTS and encourages career consideration in the metalworking industry. Participating exhibitors provide information about the industry.
