Aerospace industry sales will grow 6%, or $12 billion, to a record $210.6 billion in 2008 (AIA). The current backlog of commercial aircraft orders indicates an upward trend for at least three or four more years.

In addition, the FAA Aerospace Forecast predicts that through 2020, the general aviation fleet will increase at an average annual rate of 1.4%, growing by nearly 50,000 aircraft.
