What Is the CDC?

The Career Development Center (CDC) will include interactive exhibits from companies, colleges, industry associations and more. Students will also have the opportunity to speak with company human resource staff about career opportunities and the required skill sets.

How can I sign up to exhibit in the CDC?

Submit the CDC Exhibitor Sign-Up Sheet to NIMS. This can be faxed to 703-352-4991 or emailed as a PDF to jstellenwerf@nims-skills.org.

Who can be a Career Development Center (CDC) Exhibitor?

Schools, colleges, universities, companies, company human resource personnel, industry associations. Any organization that has an interest in getting students interested and excited about careers in precision manufacturing.

What can I exhibit?

All CDC exhibits MUST be staffed at all times and must be interactive. They must be appropriate for students and for a wide variety of age ranges. The purpose of the CDC is to get students excited about a career in precision manufacturing. As long as your exhibit is within those parameters - we are happy to have you!

When is the CDC open? When should my booth be open?

The CDC is open Monday - Saturday (9/8/08 - 9/13/08), each day of IMTS, from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. We expect that your booth will be staffed during that time.

How many students should I plan on seeing throughout the week?

In 2006, the NIMS Student Summit at IMTS drew over 6,000 students. We are expecting over 7,000 students at the 2008 event. The students are generally dispersed over the week. The largest volume of students will be in the CDC in the morning hours so that they may experience IMTS in the afternoon.

Is there a cost to exhibit?

There is no cost to exhibit within the CDC.
