This week I have moved on to CNC turning from CNC milling. This is the last cell before we move on to hand fitting and then return permanently to company.
I have been looking forward to moving onto the CNC lathes because I had greatly enjoyed manual
turning and I am interested to see the similarities and changes between the two since one is just a
computer-controlled version of the other.
I found the transition easy because I have just spent the last seven weeks on CNC milling and the
programming systems are very similar. Also, the CNC lathe works in two dimensions rather than
three dimensions as on the CNC milling machine, so this also contributes to it being easier.
