Submit your Freight Planner & Custom Block Package Form, located in your e-Kit, by March 11! This will ensure your exhibit experience is smooth, efficient, and cost effective. Once submitted, GES will determine your move-in date and time based on your answers to the questionnaire. Target Planning
Tom Gilmore Jr. of GES, discusses the importance of submitting your Freight Planner & Custom Block Package Information page. This will place your company into the correct package color category and help determine your target dates as well as costs. Following through minimizes unexpected freight, rigging and equipment expenses.

Based on your submission, GES will organize all material handling, labor, rigging, floor coverings and more. As your information and requirements for IMTS 2016 become further solidified, GES will adjust the pricing, up or down, based on the latest information. The program is self-correcting.

Choosing a Carrier
Dave Mata, GES logistics manager, explains the importance of selecting a carrier with experience to avoid unexpected waiting time costs.

Shipping to the Advance Warehouse 
Tom Gilmore, GES national freight manager, points out how he transforms your target plan into reality by organizing packages into direct shipment, warehousing and uncrated equipment. With the many Department of Transportation changes around McCormick Place, GES has streamlined their approach. A standard warehouse holds shipments of 4,000 pounds or less, and a heavy warehouse for shipments weighing more than 4,000. The heavy warehouse also holds uncrated equipment and machinery. The heaviest piece delivered so far weighs 150,000 pounds and arrived uncrated.

Advice
Bob Ryley, vice president of GES, encourages you to communicate as often as necessary so that GES can be of service to you. “The only bad question, is the question not asked,” says Bob. In addition, he repeats, “Plan your work and work your plan — and communicate.”
