Keep Fit during IMTS 2016, Run or Walk in the Miles 4 Manufacturing (M4M) 5K
Every Step of the Way Helps Out Students!
Whether you are working an IMTS booth or visiting the show to find innovative manufacturing solutions, an exciting mid-week, early morning event can help keep your mind clear. On Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 7 a.m., the Miles for Manufacturing 5K run/walk will take participants on a scenic route down Lake Shore Drive and loop around for a total of 3.1 miles. The start and finish line will be near most hotels, allowing people to return to their hotels for a quick shower before heading to McCormick Place when the show floor opens.
Peter Eelman, AMT Vice President – Exhibitions and Communications said, “As we plan IMTS, we work hard to offer our exhibitors and visitors a complete experience. This is a great way to bring our community together outside the show floor and enjoy the beauty of September in Chicago. We’d love to see the entire IMTS community come out for this event. Even if you are not a runner or distance walker, come cheer us on.”
All of the hard costs of producing the run – shirts, banners, bibs, timing gear, etc. – are all paid by the IMTS tradeshow. So 100 percent of runner registration goes directly to Chicago area schools that are preparing students for careers in manufacturing.
The M4M is a fantastic way to build some extra company spirit into your busy IMTS week. Organize a team to run or walk in the M4M. Win the award for the largest team…or the craziest team costume! It’s a great start to your day and you’ll be helping out students every step of the way.
