Janicki Industries Breaks Ground on $800 Million Campus in Great Falls, Montana: Janicki Industries, a privately owned engineering and manufacturing company, broke ground yesterday on its new manufacturing campus in Great Falls, Montana, marking the official start of construction on the company's $800 million investment in the region. The 1.6 million-square-foot campus, to be built in phases over the next decade, is expected to create 1,000 new jobs within five years and more than 2,000 jobs by the time it is complete. The new campus will expand Janicki's capabilities in advanced composites, precision machining, and metal fabrication to meet growing demand from its aerospace, defense, and space customers. The first phase of the campus is expected to open by the end of 2027. Micron Begins Foundation Construction at $100 Billion New York Campus: Construction has entered a new phase at Micron's semiconductor manufacturing campus in Central New York, marking continued progress on one of the largest advanced manufacturing projects in the United States. When completed, the campus is expected to become the largest semiconductor manufacturing complex in the United States and serve as a major advanced manufacturing hub in Upstate New York. Micron has committed up to $100 billion for the Central New York development, making it the largest private-sector investment and construction project in New York State history. Niron Magnetics Breaks Ground on America's Rare-Earth-Free Magnet Future: Niron Magnetics began construction for its Sartell, Minnesota, facility, targeting 1,500 metric tons annually of rare-earth-free permanent magnets by 2027. The company's proprietary iron nitride technology offers the first commercially credible alternative to rare-earth permanent magnets in decades. The facility consolidates material production and magnet manufacturing under one roof, strengthening domestic supply chain resilience. Construction aligns with the Department of Defense's DFARS 2027 sourcing requirements, addressing urgent demand to reduce reliance on Chinese magnet supply chains. Toyota Boosts Pickup Truck Capacity in Texas: Toyota Motor North America plans to move its Tacoma pickup truck production from Mexico to Texas, spending $3.6 billion to add another assembly line at its San Antonio manufacturing facility. The addition will create 2,000 jobs and double the size of the plant to 2.5 million square feet within four years. Defense Technology Company OKSI To Invest $5.4M in Jacksonville, Arkansas: Defense technology company Opto-Knowledge Systems Inc. (OKSI) is expanding into Jacksonville, Arkansas, with a $5.4 million manufacturing facility that city leaders said will create hundreds of high-skilled jobs in Central Arkansas. Groundbreaking is scheduled for August, with operations expected to begin later this year. The company expects to create 200 jobs over the next three years. Positions will include engineering, manufacturing, technical operations, artificial intelligence, and systems integration. BMW Group Completes $1.7 Billion U.S. Investment in Spartanburg: The BMW Group celebrated the completion of a $1.7 billion investment in its South Carolina operations. With this milestone, BMW Group has completed the expansion of Plant Spartanburg and the construction of Plant Woodruff, establishing the foundation for the assembly of fully electric BMW vehicles in South Carolina. South Carolina is the home of BMW Group’s largest plant worldwide. BMW Group’s business activities in the U.S. support more than 120,000 jobs nationwide and contribute more than $43.3 billion annually to the U.S. economy. Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Expands Oklahoma City Manufacturing Facility: Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. will expand its Oklahoma City manufacturing campus, adding more than 106,000 square feet of production space. This investment is designed to meet the growing demand for the company's jet-powered drone systems, including the Valkyrie collaborative combat aircraft and the Firejet aerial target system. Jabil Planning Massive Marshall County Facility: Manufacturing and engineering giant Jabil plans to open a massive production facility in Marshall County, Mississippi, marking a $119 million corporate investment that state officials expect will create approximately 2,200 new jobs. The company is purchasing and renovating an existing 1.5 million-square-foot facility to support customers in the booming data center infrastructure market. Mitsubishi Chemical Invests in Pennsylvania Plant: Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials Inc. is investing $20.3 million to expand its high-performance thermoplastics and composites manufacturing operations in Reading, Pennsylvania, a move that will create 42 new jobs and retain 441 existing positions over the next three years. The global manufacturer will renovate its existing facility, construct an adjacent building, and install new machinery and equipment to support expanded production of specialty engineering thermoplastics and composites. $127M Automotive Facility To Bring 173 Jobs with Massive Seguin Exchange Development: A large empty field in Seguin, Texas, will soon be transformed into an approximately 250,000-square-foot automotive manufacturing facility. The new facility will manufacture vehicle underbody chassis using robotic welding, metal stamping, and shipping operations. The project represents a $127 million investment. The facility is expected to create 173 new full-time jobs. Fulflex Acquires 300,000-Square-Foot, Fully Automated Medical Products Manufacturing Facility in Texas: Fulflex acquired a 300,000-square-foot, fully automated medical products manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, Texas. The acquisition brings more than 250 highly skilled employees into the Fulflex organization and establishes Jacksonville as one of the company's largest and most advanced manufacturing locations worldwide. The facility’s advanced manufacturing capabilities include plastics injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, extrusion, assembly, and automated manufacturing technologies. Extant Aerospace Breaks Ground on State-of-the-Art Aerospace Manufacturing Facility in Melbourne: Extant Aerospace broke ground on its new state-of-the-art facility in Melbourne, Florida, marking an exciting new chapter for one of the region’s longstanding aerospace employers. The company produces, repairs, and supports more than 5,000-part numbers and assemblies across various commercial aerospace and defense platforms. The new facility represents a more than $75 million investment in Melbourne and will include more than 376,000 square feet of operational space, with an additional 120,000 square feet planned for future expansion. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to support growth from more than 250 employees today to more than 450 employees. Montgomery County Celebrates Inauguration of New Bora Biologics Manufacturing Facility: Bora Biologics’ new drug substance manufacturing facility launched in Rockville, Maryland. Bora Group acquired MacroGenics’ GMP manufacturing operations and biologics manufacturing facility for $122.5 million and will continue to make products for MacroGenics, while also offering expanded contract manufacturing capacity for other pharma companies. The Taiwan-based company announced it is retaining the 140 employees who previously worked at the site for MacroGenics and plans to add more jobs and capital investment in the near future.
