Your support as a sponsor, runner or a contributing spectator, directly benefits students!
The Miles for Manufacturing 5K Run/Walk fundraising event, held on Wednesday, September 12th, during the week of IMTS 2018, drew a record 486 runners. The 5K run/walk generated another record of $27,310 in sponsor support and runner registration fees. Every dollar is donated to programs that prepare students for careers in manufacturing technology.
Money raised from the September 12th M4M 5K has been donated to support FIRST Illinois robotics teams, FIRST Indiana robotics teams, and the makerspace in the new Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Center at Richard J. Daley College. In addition, M4M proceeds will be used to acquire STEM Bionics4Education kits from Festo-Didactic and donated to 14 schools, including STEM middle schools in the Chicago Public School system, as well as other area schools. Money raised through M4M is distributed by AMT's Smartforce Development initiative.
Since the first M4M event at IMTS 2014, IMTS has and continues to cover all the hard costs of producing the event from timing gear, banners, and logistics to packet slips, shirts, and bibs, so that 100 percent of all revenue raised goes directly to the recipient programs. GIE Media handles management and logistics for the event. In addition to IMTS, the M4M 5K also takes place nationwide at conferences and meetings hosted by AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, the owner and operator of IMTS. Every dollar is donated to similar programs in these cities.
