Miles for Manufacturing 5K
The Miles for Manufacturing (M4M) 5K Run/Walk has become a beloved tradition at IMTS, uniting the manufacturing community around two shared passions: staying active and giving back.
Launched at IMTS 2014, the event has raised more than $250,000 to date – all of which goes directly to STEM programs around the country that prepare the next generation of innovators, makers, and problem solvers; that 100% impact is possible because IMTS covers every production expense – from shirts and timing gear to permits and signage. Thanks to this support, every sponsorship dollar and every runner's registration fee is invested in manufacturing education.
At the 10th Anniversary Run in 2024, a record 568 participants hit the pavement in Chicago. With industry sponsors stepping up alongside our runners and walkers, the event generated $47,445 in donations – supporting 17 STEM-focused organizations, including 12 FIRST Robotics teams, the Women in Manufacturing Education Foundation, and more than $10,000 for the Children First Fund – The Chicago Public Schools Foundation.
Now, we're gearing up for IMTS 2026, and the bar is set higher than ever.
