Miles for Manufacturing 5K
The Miles for Manufacturing (M4M) 5K Run/Walk is AMT's annual community fundraising event. It was first run at IMTS 2014 and has raised over $250,000. Since the IMTS tradeshow pays all of the hard costs of producing the M4M, 100% of the money raised from sponsorship and registration fees gets distributed to support advance manufacturing education at schools and STEM programs throughout the country.
The 10th Anniversary Run/Walk occurred during IMTS 2024 in Chicago, where 568 runners and walkers laced up their sneakers for a good cause. Combined with the generous support of industry sponsors, the 2024 event raised a record-breaking $47,445 to support 17 organizations focused on STEM education, including 12 FIRST Robotics teams, the Women in Manufacturing Education Foundation, and over $10,000 for the Children First Fund – The Chicago Public Schools Foundation.
