Agenda
8:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Registration and Breakfast
9:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. Welcome and Overview
9:15 a.m. - 9:35 a.m. Manufacturing Critical-path Time (MCT) – Supply chain expert and consultant, Paul Ericksen, will demonstrate the new, open-source MCT tool empowering leaner, more data-driven production.
9:35 a.m. - 9:55 a.m. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) – Reshoring Initiative's, Harry Moser, will debut the newly redesigned and enhanced TCO Estimator bringing increased visibility to the complete cost of sourcing and procuring parts. Most companies make sourcing decisions based solely on purchase price or manufacturing cost, often resulting in a 25% miscalculation of actual offshoring costs. Instead, buyers can use total cost of ownership (TCO) to account for all relevant factors – logistics, overhead, balance sheet, risks, corporate strategy and other external and internal business considerations that affect true cost. Using TCO instead of price makes it clear that 20 to 30% of what is now imported can be sourced more profitably locally. TCO can also be used to sell, to help customer purchasing see the benefits of domestic sourcing.
9:55 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. Supply Chain Interoperability Specification (SCIS) – Nonprofit engineering innovation outfit Helpful Engineering will discuss the new SCIS intent on managing supply chain challenges.
10:15 a.m. - 10:35 a.m. Reshoring Case Study – Global manufacturing solutions supplier, Hardinge, will present its “Made in the USA” initiative and discuss direct impacts of reshoring production from Taiwan to the United States.
10:35 a.m. - 10:55 a.m. Closing Panel Discussion – Ben Treuhaft, Cathy Ma, and Harry Moser will engage in a moderated and Q&A panel discussion.
10:55 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Thanks and follow-up
