We are thrilled to produce HANNOVER MESSE in the United States alongside IMTS 2018. As part of the iconic brand’s launch in North America this year, we have created new content and educational platforms for attendees. A key new educational platform is the Solutions Theater located in the middle of the HANNOVER MESSE USA show floor at McCormick Place on Level 2 of the Lakeside Building.
Solutions Theater is sponsored by top innovators, key influencers and experts in the industrial automation field, including Bluetooth, GE Ventures, German Plattform Industrie 4.0, Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), Manufacturing Leadership Council, Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and SAP to name a few. Our partners will host presentations and events in the Solutions Theater, starting on Monday, September 10 through Friday, September 14.
Solutions Theater was specifically designed to inspire all HANNOVER MESSE USA and IMTS registered attendees with the latest presentations, case studies, demonstrations and special events around how to implement new digital business models in the factory. HANNOVER MESSE has thoughtfully selected Solutions Theater partners to ensure valuable, actionable tips that are easy to implement in your manufacturing facility.
Visionaries will share their stories, techniques and personal journeys about how they have moved forward and adopted Industrie 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions. Discussions and presentations will focus on today’s trending industry topics, including smart manufacturing, predictive maintenance, security, automated intelligence, machine learning, robotics and much more.
Industrie 4.0 Meets the Industrial Internet of Things
On Monday, September 10, Solutions Theater will feature panel sessions about the intersection of Industrie 4.0 and IIoT. Kicking off the day is a Public Policies Panel that will provide an in-depth overview of the digital transformation of manufacturing from a political, scientific, as well as industrial perspective. Executives from NEMA, VDMA and the Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office are on the panel.
Another of the day’s morning panels will focus on the challenges and benefits of digital business models. In the afternoon, an Industrie 4.0/IIoT relevant standards and norms panel of experts will discuss current developments and give recommendations on how to implement new standards into your manufacturing processes. Other afternoon speaking sessions include presentations by NEMA and IIC executives followed by a security panel, featuring industry experts from Bosch, Fraunhofer Institute, NEMA, Rockwell and Siemens. The day will conclude with a Testbeds live session hosted by Fraunhofer Institute and smartfactory KL e.V. followed by a networking reception.
Intelligent Drive Technology, Smart Power Transmission and Fluid Power Solutions
On Wednesday, September 12, VDMA will host a conference focused on smart manufacturing and predictive maintenance in Solutions Theater. Thought leaders and key industry influencers will present how to utilize digital technology and data to increase the effectiveness of machines and equipment and the efficiency of production processes. Experts also will showcase how the structured linking of data and seamless monitoring enables fast error diagnosis and makes a decisive contribution to the reduction of unplanned downtime and associated production downtime. Presenters will discuss how digital networking of machines, products and components makes it possible to record status data of machine components in real-time and combine it with information from third-party systems such as ERP or CRM.
GE Ventures Sponsors Innovations Day in Solutions Theater
On Thursday, September 13, GE Ventures will sponsor Innovations Day in Solutions Theater. GE Ventures will present its 2018 GE Ventures New Industrial Report and share its unique outlook for investing in the New Industrial segment. Select GE Ventures portfolio companies will discuss frontier technologies such as robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing, cybersecurity, blockchain and predictive maintenance.
Also, during Innovations Day, GE Ventures and Sente will host a pitch showcase for early-stage startup companies focused on digital factory technologies, such as IIoT, artificial intelligence, robotics, augmented and virtual reality, blockchain and similar leading-edge innovations. The pitch showcase provides select startups with a unique opportunity to showcase their innovations to potential customers, key investors and the media attending the trade show.
IIoT on Route to Smart Manufacturing and Intelligent Transport
On Friday, September 14, the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) will host a morning of presentations and panel discussions in Solutions Theater followed by a networking reception on the trade show floor. IIC discussions will focus on technologies disrupting the manufacturing industry: The IIoT, cybersecurity, automation, time sensitive networking (TSN) and artificial intelligence. Experts in manufacturing, automation and security will showcase IIC case studies about how new technologies shape machine interoperability, manufacturing quality improvements, real-time control and synchronization of high-performance machines, equipment failure predictions and more. IIC’s testbeds are the proving ground for new technologies shaping the future of manufacturing and will be on display on the show floor.
