Bus Transportation Funding Options

While the Smartforce Student Summit is completely free for students, educators, parent chaperones, robotics teams scouts and scout leaders, transportation is not covered. Here are some handy tips to help cover transportation costs:

  • CTE Programs: In most states, Perkins V considers transportation costs an allowable expenditure when associated with excursions/extended learning opportunities tied directly to CTE coursework. Applies to high school and post-secondary education. New to Perkins? Find your Regional Coordinator.
  • Employers are making unprecedented investments in the future workforce, which could mean that private sector funding is closer than you think. Connect with your regional or state manufacturing association to connect with businesses that can support your transportation costs.
  • Not sure where to start? Contact Catherine Ross, Director of Education, Smartforce Development, cross@AMTonline.org.
